Mike Eruzione’s game-worn ‘Miracle on Ice’ jersey could be yours… for about a million dollars

Looking for that once in a lifetime gift for the diehard hockey fan in your life? Feast your eyes, pal, because this is it.

You're looking at the jersey Team USA captain and forward Mike Eruzione was wearing when he scored the game-winning goal in a 4-3 victory over the Soviet Union on Feb. 22, 1980, aka the Miracle on Ice.

And this jersey can be yours for, oh, I don't know, a million dollars or so. (The Miracle on Ice was sort of a big deal.)

Seriously though, that's the price. According to Sports Collectors Daily, the presale estimate is over a million dollars. Maybe you can go halfers with someone?

Now, you might think that's a little steep, but remember what you're getting here. I hate to sound like Peter Popoff, but it's literally a miracle jersey. Here's a reminder of what Eruzione did in it:

Eruzione's game-worn jersey is one of three items cosigned to Heritage Auctions' upcoming Winter Platinum Night auction in Manhattan next February. Alongside the white "Miracle" jersey, Eruzione has put up the stick he was using when he scored the game-winning goal, and the jersey he was wearing in the gold-medal game versus Finland.

Those items are estimated at $100,000 and $200,000, respectively.

"So why is Eruzione selling all these incredible items?" You might ask.

"Um. Did you see their estimated sale price?" I might respond.
