Marian Hossa injured after collision in win over Bruins (GIF)

The Chicago Blackhawks survived a scare on the scoreboard against the Boston Bruins, holding on for a 6-4 win after building a 6-0 advantage on Sunday. But they suffered a more significant scare in the third period: Watching Marian Hossa limp off the ice after a neutral zone collision.

Here’s the play:

As you can see, Frank Vatrano of the Bruins collided with Hossa, who immediately went to the Blackhawks’ bench, putting little pressure on his left leg.

Hossa played 13:06 for the game. He left the ice at 9:08 of the third period and did not return.

After the game, Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said Hossa "seemed to be OK. We'll know more tomorrow," according to Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune.

Hossa, 37, missed Friday’s game for the Blackhawks with an illness. He had an assist and was a minus-2 in the win over the Bruins. Hossa has been limited to 64 games this season, and has 13 goals and 20 assists.

The Blackhawks are virtually locked into the third seed in the Central, so resting Hossa until the postseason wouldn't be the worst idea.

As for the game, the Blackhawks got Quenneville his 800th NHL coaching victory, thanks to a Patrick Kane hat trick and a four-point game.

The Bruins, meanwhile, remains outside the playoff bubble in the East with the loss. Tuukka Rask was pulled after giving up four goals on 22 shots. They now have three games left, including a must-win showdown with the Detroit Red Wings on April 7.
