The Florida Panthers announced on Monday that Marco Sturm has retired, roughly two years after everyone else thought he had.

Turns out Sturm has been with the Cologne Sharks of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, after failing to latch onto an NHL teams following last season’s lockout. Previously, he played with the San Jose Sharks, Boston Bruins, Los Angeles Kings, Washington Capitals, Vancouver Canucks and the Florida Panthers.
