Jonathan Toews knocked out of game vs. Penguins after Brooks Orpik hit (Video)

Chicago Blackhawks fans are collectively holding their breath after captain Jonathan Toews was forced from their game against the Pittsburgh Penguins Sunday with an upper-body injury.

Toward the end of the second period, with the Penguins holding a 2-1 lead, Toews took control of the puck along the boards when Brooks Orpik drilled him.

Toews looked to be holding his arm when he went back to the bench. He eventually went back into the locker room and did not return for the rest of the game.

Pittsburgh would win the game 4-1.

Afterward, Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville said Toews is "day-to-day" and will be checked out on Monday. He added he did not believe the injury was serious.

The Blackhawks have already clinched a playoff spot, but at the moment they are in a battle for home ice advantage in the first round with the Colorado Avalanche. Already without Patrick Kane for at least the rest of the regular season, losing Toews for any extended period of time would really put the squeeze on the organization's depth down the middle.
