John Scott's unforgettable week ends with birth of twin girls

The best week of John Scott’s life continued on Friday when his wife, Danielle, gave birth to twin girls, Estelle and Sofia, which she announced on social media.

“poor @jhs_32 just sprung a few more grey hairs,” her message added.

Despite being “very pregnant,” as she put it, Scott’s wife and two daughters made the trip to Nashville for All-Star Weekend after getting a doctor’s note to travel. An already surreal experience for the family was made even more unbelievable when Scott scored on his first shift and later added a second goal before getting MVP honors.

“I jumped up when he scored his second goal holding my two kids and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I better stop and relax,” Danielle said after Sunday's 3-on-3 tournament.

Scott’s All-Star story is now complete. The month-long saga that ended with his MVP performance — after originally not being a voting option for fans — is an unforgettable memory no matter where his hockey journey takes him from here.

Now home in Michigan, Scott has been given time off to spend his his family before resuming his hockey career with the AHL’s St. John’s Ice Caps.

"I don't think you could top this. This is crazy," Scott said Sunday. "If this twins happen when they're due, you can't beat that, right? Two healthy babies coming out after an All-Star win? Yeah, that's good."
