Jaromir Jagr says he has agreement in place to return to Devils

Jaromir Jagr is currently practicing with the Czech national team ahead of next month's World Championships. The 42-year old is coming off a productive season with the New Jersey Devils, scoring 24 goals and leading the team with 67 points. And judging by his comments on Tuesday, he'll be back for at least one more.

Via iSport (translated):

"Yes, it's solved, so I went back to Czech. We can say that we have a deal. Next year I will again in the Devils again for a year."

TVA Sports' Renaud Lavoie followed that up Tweeting that Jagr's deal for the 2014-15 season could be a modest increase from this past season if he hits bonuses:

Jagr enjoyed himself during his first season with the Devils and he sees potential for 2014-15.

(Translated) "Believe that if you make one, two changes... maybe get even further. We have the perfect coach, which is quite hard, but he understands hockey, which is very important."

Jagr has always said he'd like to play one year with the club he grew up playing for and currently owns, Kladno of the Czech Extraliga. At 42, and knowing the fitness freak that he is, it might be a while before he heads home to finish up his career.

UPDATE: Jagr's agent, Petr Svoboda, confirms a deal is in place, telling Rich Chere of The Star-Ledger: "Absolutely. The deal is very very close but it's not finalized yet. Lou (Lamoriello) will let you know as soon as it's complete."
