Iconic Los Angeles donut transformed into hockey puck for Kings’ playoff run (Photo)

During the Chicago Blackhawks’ last two trips to the Stanley Cup Final, the Field Museum dinosaur was dressed up in a team jersey and the lions outside of the Art Institute have donned black hockey helmets. In Los Angeles, the Kings’ home jersey has been adorned on the Wayne Gretzky and Magic Johnson statues outside of Staples Center during their playoff runs.

Now, an LA landmark is throwing its support behind the Kings in a uniqe way.

Near LAX, Randy’s Donuts has been a Los Angeles institution since 1953. On Saturday night, before the Kings took a 2-1 series lead over the Blackhawks, the giant iconic donut that sits on the roof of the shop was transformed into one big hockey puck:

If the Blackhawks want to combat this promotion, it’s obvious they need to build a pop-up Stan Mikita’s Donuts and actually have Stan Mikita standing on top giving out free glazed donuts for the rest of the playoffs.
