The 21-year old Brock was a second-round pick of the Carolina Hurricanes in 2012 and didn’t waste any time getting his name on the scoresheet during his NHL debut Friday night.

“You dream of this moment growing up playing hockey and for sure it’s a special moment for me and my family, just to get this opportunity,” he told Chip Alexander of the News and Observer ahead of his debut. “I want to come up here and play the best I can and run with it.”

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the 55 seconds it took McGinn to score in his NHL debut is the fastest since Alexander Mogilny needed only 20 seconds in his first game with the Buffalo Sabres on Oct. 5, 1989.

Big bro Jamie scored his first NHL goal on Oct. 30, 2008 also against the Detroit Red Wings.

First game. First shift. First minute. First goal. And a memory for a lifetime.
