Hockey fan wins $100K after sinking 115-foot shot (Video)
Fans of the ECHL’s Orlando Solar Bears had an exciting Thursday night on two levels.
First, their team beat the Florida Everblades 4-3, thanks to an overtime goal by Patrick Watling with under a second to go, keeping their playoff dreams alive.

Second, earlier in the night, the 8,226 in attendance witnessed one of their own score on a 115-foot shot to take home $100,000.
The newly-rich Solar Bears season ticket holder had won a contest earlier in the season and was selected to participate in the intermission shoot-the-puck game. With a big wad of cash on the line, the fan only needed one attempt.
