Henrik Zetterberg out 2 weeks, joining Datsyuk on shelf for Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings have rolled into December with a four-game winning streak, overcoming the loss of Pavel Datsyuk to a concussion on Nov. 23.

Datsyuk is still out; but now, there’s a little more adversity for the Red Wings to overcome, as Henrik Zetterberg will be out a minimum of two weeks with a small herniated disc, according to Mlive.com’s Ansar Khan.

Zetterberg is the Red Wings’ leading scorer with 30 points in 28 games, and Jimmy Howard called him the team’s best player this season. Datsyuk remains their second-leading scorer with 23 points in 24 games.

The Wings figure to be without both of them when the Philadelphia Flyers roll into town on Wednesday, but for how long after that?

Datsyuk will miss at least the next two games, and the Wings are saying he needs another good week of practice before heading back into the lineup.
