Florida Panthers promotion seeks to fill open 'Traveling Jagrs' position

@68isgr8

You know and you love the “Traveling Jagrs.” They’re the group of mullet- and jersey-wearing Jaromir Jagr superfans who travel around North American cheering on their hero.

But with Jagr’s recently trade to the Florida Panthers, the group needs a new member. Enter the Panthers’ promotion department, who have stepped up to help fill the group’s empty spot. Before their game on April 2 against the Carolina Hurricane, the team will be holding tryouts for a “Non-Traveling Jagr” position.

According to the online job description, entrants must “lack of any knowledge of socially acceptable hairstyles,” have a “willingness to take many, many pictures with fellow Travelling Jagr members and fans,” and, of course, have “expert knowledge of the professional hockey career of one Jaromir Jagr.”

Vitally important: It's BYOM: Bring your own mullet. (We prefer 1990 NHL Draft Hair Jagr, ourselves.)

The winner will receive their own No. 68 Jagr Panthers jersey and a ticket to the April 4 game against the Tampa Bay Lightning where they will sit with their brethren in the Traveling Jagrs section.

"We were looking for a group costume and a couple of us had Jagr jerseys," Tyler, a.k.a. Ranger Jagr, told NHL.com in 2013 about the group's beginnings. "We're all Jagr fans and said, 'let's go dressed as Jagr.' That was our thought process."

Jagr, who in the video above, acknowledged the group during warmups in Calgary earlier this season, is appreciative of the support, as he told the New Jersey media in November.

"They know who is the man," he joked. "They understand good hockey, too."
