Fan lovingly uses Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill as pillow (Video)

Detroit Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill has been called a “players’ coach,” which is usually code for a firm but comforting presence on the bench.

Depending on your requirements for a quality night of sleep, "firm but comforting" might also describe your favorite pillow.

Which brings us to this fan at the Red Wings’ victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets, as spotted by Puck Daddy reader Jeff Michalak. The gentleman in the Mount Union hockey jersey noticed he was perfectly positioned near Blashill’s shoulder for some depth perception chicanery.

So he slowly placed his head “on” Blashill during a stoppage in play, and lovingly gazed up at the Red Wings coach until the cameras cut away. One assumes he then continued his slumber, dreaming of scenarios in which the Red Wings don't blow their wild card lead to the Flyers.

Finally, an appropriate pillow to go along with Gustav Nyquist’s Mike Babcock bed linens…
