The NHL has announced the entertainment for the 2015 All-Star Game next weekend (Jan. 25) in Columbus. Alas, there’s never any fighting in the exhibition event, which dramatically reduces the chances that Pete Wentz gets punched in the face at some point. 

That’s right, kids: Fall Out Boy will light mups for centuries while going down swingin’, sugar, because we’re just a notch on their bedpost but they’re just a line in this song, for this ain’t a scene, it’s a gosh darn arms race.

The tremendously talented Patrick Stump and the rest of the band will play the first intermission of the All-Star Game. O.A.R. will play the second intermission, although there’s no word on an accompanying ice hacky-sack competition during the set.

Something called Locksley, who performed the Columbus Blue Jackets’ goal song, will play during player intros, hopefully capturing 1/100th of the cool that The Hives had when they did the same in Atlanta some years back. Remember the Thrashers? Man, crazy times in the NHL back then.

The 2015 Honda NHL® All-Star Game will feature performances from Grammy Award-nominated and multi-platinum selling recording artist Fall Out Boy, rock band O.A.R. and power-pop band Locksley, the National Hockey League announced today. Fans can watch the 2015 Honda NHL All-Star Game live on Sunday, Jan. 25 at 5 p.m. ET on NBCSN in the U.S. and on CBC and TVA Sports in Canada. Fans outside of North America will be able to watch the game via NHL GameCenter LIVE and international broadcast partners in more than 160 countries and territories around the world.

Fall Out Boy will perform during the first intermission of the 2015 Honda NHL® All-Star Game followed by a performance from Ohio State alumni O.A.R. during the second intermission.

Locksley will perform “The Whip,” its hit single and the song performed after every Columbus Blue Jackets goal, during the NHL All-Star player introductions. Twelve local boys and girls, between the ages of eight and 13 years old, will take part in the player introductions as part of McDonald’s “In the Lineup” program.

The Columbus Blue Jackets and city of Columbus will host the 2015 NHL All-Star festivities, Jan. 24-25, marking a first for the city and Club. The League’s midseason showcase will include the Honda NHL All-Star Skills Competition™ on Saturday, Jan. 24 (7 p.m. ET, NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports) and the Honda NHL® All-Star Game on Sunday, Jan. 25 (5 p.m. ET, NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports). Locksley – Player Introductions

Fall Out Boy – who won BEST ALTERNATIVE BAND at the 2014 People’s Choice Awards – are set to release their sixth studio album AMERICAN BEAUTY/AMERICAN PSYCHO on January 20 on Island Records & DCD2 Records. O.A.R. first began to develop their unique sound while in high school in Rockville, Md.  With three albums under their belt before they finished college, the band began pursuing their musical dreams full time in the summer of 2001.
