ECHL’s San Francisco Bulls push broken-down Zamboni off ice during second intermission (VIDEO)

The ECHL's San Francisco Bulls returned home this weekend after a month-long, 12-game road trip that ended with seven straight losses. No doubt they were exhausted and looking forward to the extra push that comes with home-ice advantage, especially in the third period.

They received that extra push, but they had to give it to get it. (Just as the New Radicals prophesied!) During the second intermission, the Zamboni broke down on the ice, forcing the Bulls to shake off the sea legs, come together as a team, and shove the hulking piece of machinery off the ice manually:

I love you, minor-league hockey.

Our condolences to Edmonton Oilers' blueliner Theo Peckham, who joined the Bulls just under a week ago. He probably thought he'd never have to push another Zamboni in his life when he broke into the NHL. But, alas, this lockout has made fools of us all.

The Bulls were karmically rewarded for their good deed immediately, scoring thrice in the third to knock off the Stockton Thunder by a score of 4-1.

Unfortunately, the karma ran out immediately thereafter. Either that, or moving the Zamboni took a lot out of them. The Bulls fell the following night to the Ontario Reign, and it wasn't even close. Led by locked-out NHLer Devin Setoguchi, who had 6 shots and 2 goals, the Reign outshot the Bulls 47-9 (including 32-4 through two) and won the game 7-0.
