ECHL’s Ray Kaunisto gets 7 meows in during on-ice interview (Video)

As professional athletes are on the road for most of their adult lives, there is much viewing of comedies like “Super Troopers” to pass the time and, thus, adopting many of the jokes from the films as their own. Like, for example, the “Meow Game.”

In the seminal comedy “Super Troopers,” Trooper Thorny bets Trooper Foster that he can’t say “meow” 10 times during a traffic stop.

Atlanta Falcons safety Thomas DeCoud played the game on SportsCenter two years ago with great success.

Last weekend, Ray Kaunisto of the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL took his turn … during an on-ice intermission interview.

“We gotta get into the corners meow, and pass the puck a few more times down in the neutral zone there meow,” he said.

In total, the Minnesota-born former Northern Michigan player slipped in seven meows in about 40 seconds. Which is meow-standing.
