ECHL’s Kalamazoo Wings singing Wham! will put the boom boom into your heart (VIDEO)

Hockey fans in Michigan are going through a rough stretch. Nicklas Lidstrom retired. Ken Holland struck out in free agency. The NHL lockout has the Red Wings on the back burner. And on Friday, the Winter Classic was cancelled postponed.

But if something's bugging you, jitterbug -- if something ain't right, Michigan -- the ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings are here for you. Sure, it's dark times in the wolverine state, but the K-Wings are a happy, happy bunch. Why, it's all they can do to stop from breaking out into spontaneous renditions of seminal 1980s pop hit "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go".

Click the image (or here) for the video. And then come back.

Man. Working out as a member of the Kalamazoo Wings looks like a boatload of fun! These guys sure do love Wham!

One might question the production value on this thing, although it was good enough for the Jumbotron, where the clip debuted Friday night during the Wings' 5-4 loss to the Cincinnati Cyclones. But one cannot question the players' commitment to the moves, especially Darren Archibald, who made the brave choice to go full Carlton Banks at the end there. That takes elite dancing skills and confidence.

Is it too much to ask for a melodramatic take on "Careless Whisper" next? I'd kill to see one of these guys miming that cheesy saxophone solo.

Anyway. If you're depressed or starving for hockey, Michiganite, the Kalamazoo Wings want you to know they want your love. Heck, you send their souls sky high when your loving starts.

Actually, if you're planning to attend, could you wake them up before you go-go? That'd be great.
