Danny DeKeyser flies with Blue Angels, doesn't hurl (Video)

Danny DeKeyser remains a restricted free agent, but he and Detroit Red Wings general manager Ken Holland remain confident that a new deal will get done before training camp opens in two weeks.

To take his mind off his current contract situation, DeKeyser took to the skies on Tuesday with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels inside an F/A-18 Hornet fully equipped with plastic bags in case he had to cough up something that wasn't a puck.

The Blue Angels were in town for the Selfridge Open House and Air Show this weekend. Fortunately for DeKeyser, he didn't need to use those plastic bags during his 40-minute flight, according to Ansar Khan.

From MLive.com:

"I didn't do anything to prepare. They put you through a little tutorial before and kind of tell you how to tighten your legs, and you got to squeeze certain muscles so you don't pass out. You just got to do it to know what it feels like."

In other unsigned Red Wings news, Daniel Alfredsson skated with a number of Detroit players on Wednesday. He began feeling a tingling in his leg at the end of last season and that is something that could hinder him returning for another year.

Alfredsson added he hopes to make a decision on his future within the next two weeks. He's stated that he'll only play with the Red Wings this season if he doesn't choose to retire.
