City of Boston fulfills Stanley Cup bet, features Blackhawks video on website (Video)

Politician bets are nothing new when it comes to important playoff series in sports. In June, the mayors of Chicago and Boston placed a wager on the outcome of the 2013 Stanley Cup Final between the Blackhawks and Bruins.

The Blackhawks, as we know, came out the victors in six games, meaning Mayor Thomas Menino had to pay up. As part of the wager, Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel created a video showing "why Chicago is so incredible" and had it placed on the City of Boston's website Wednesday morning:

Here's the rest of the bet that Menino and his staff will have to pay up:

• The "Best of Boston's Local Foods," foods that are grown or produced right here in the Hub, including some of our abundant seafood;

• I’ll see your Steppenwolf with two tickets to the Tony Award-winning Huntington Theatre Company, and raise you two tickets to Theo Epstein’s "Hot Stove, Cool Music" concert in Boston;

• And of course, I’ll match you a tree, to be planted in the schoolyard of your choosing, highlighting our common commitment to education, parks and the environment.

Given Chicago's two Cups in four seasons, we're looking forward to the inevitable photoshoot with Emanuel noshing on the Boston-area food he's about to receive, while wearing a Blackhawks jersey. If he wants to up the trolling, how about making it a Bobby Orr Blackhawks one?
