Carey Price out at least a week after re-injuring lower body

Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price will be out at least one week with a lower body injury according to John Bartlett of Sportsnet.

Price left the Habs’ Thursday night game at the New York Rangers after 40 minutes of action with the same type of injury that kept him out of action from Oct. 30 through Nov. 19.

Canadiens coach Michel Therrien indicated there was no hard timetable for Price as he continues to recover from this issue.

"We don't know how long Carey will be out but for us it's business as usual. We're focusing on tomorrow's game," Therrien said Thursday according to the Habs official Twitter feed.

NHL.com said “Price's right leg appeared to bend awkwardly when he was trying to move across the crease during a sequence in the second period.”

With Price out earlier in the year, Montreal went 5-2-2. Since his return Nov. 20, Price went 3-0-0, allowing six total goals. Price won both the Vezina Trophy and league MVP last year. He’s 10-2-0 with a 2.06 goal-against average and .934 save percentage.

Backup Mike Condon is 7-2-2 with a 2.16 goal-against average and .916 save percentage.

The Canadiens are 17-4-2 and lead the Eastern Conference with 36 points.
