Artem Anisimov to miss up to 3 months, Columbus injury voodoo continues

At this point I think it’s safe to say that last season’s playoff appearance for the Columbus Blue Jackets was the result of some sort of bargain with Satan (not Miro, the other guy).

The payment, it seems, is the health of nearly everyone associated with the team this season. We’re pretty much expecting the mascot’s antennae to be shot off by their cannon within the next 10 minutes ...

The latest injury: Center Artem Anisimov will miss 2-3 months with torn triceps.

He has two goals and four assists in 16 games this season, playing on the power play and on the penalty kill. Last season he had 39 points in 81 games.

Just to make sure the knife is twisted all the way into the side of the Blue Jackets, Anisimov was rumored to be part of a trade that would have brought David Perron of the Edmonton Oilers to Columbus, reuniting him with his former team president and assistant GM with the St. Louis Blues. But even the Oilers aren’t stupid enough to trade for a guy that’s on the shelf until February. We think …

Of course, maybe this injury is some divine intervention not to make trade. Heck, maybe this entire season isn’t the work of Beelzebub but some higher power trying to steer this franchise right into Connor McDavid.
