Watch Roger Goodell run the 40-yard dash for a good cause

Ok, all you weekend warriors, the bar has been raised.

Yes, the NFL combine is in full swing, and the 40-yard dash is the marquee event in this week's action in Indianapolis. But it's not just the draft prospects who are getting timed for the sprint.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell tried his hand — or his feet, as it were — at the 40 for the #RunRichRun campaign, the 11th year that NFL Network's Rich Eisen will run at the combine. It's for a great cause — with help from DirecTV and Under Armour, NFL Network is pledging $75,000 to help support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Goodell, who is known to be in great shape (especially for a man who turned 56 on Thursday), turned in a terrific time of 5.53 seconds. Doing so barefoot in a hallway makes the achievement all the more impressive.

For the record, Eisen broke six seconds for the first time last year, and there was one player — Alabama offensive lineman Cyrus Kouandjio — who ran a slower 40 than Goodell.

Time to make your own video, folks. Let's see how fast you run.
