Tony Gonzalez becomes first tight end in NFL history with 100 receiving touchdowns

Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez is 95 percent certain that 2012 will be his final season in the National Football League. As the most productive tight end in NFL history, Gonzalez is a lock for induction to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Gonzalez further padded his Hall of Fame resume in Sunday's 31-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints.

Among the 11 receptions for 122 yards Gonzalez had against the Saints, two were touchdown receptions, Nos. 100 and 101 of the 12-time Pro Bowler's illustrious career. Gonzalez has become the eighth player in NFL history, and the first tight end, with 100 receiving touchdowns.

With 101 touchdown receptions, Gonzalez moved ahead of former Oakland Raiders wide Tim Brown and Seattle Seahawks Hall of Fame wide receiver Steve Largent for sole possession of sixth place on the all-time receiving touchdowns list.

Through nine games this season, Gonzalez has 61 receptions for 617 yards and six touchdowns. Gonzalez has now caught 60+ passes in 14 consecutive seasons and is on pace for 108 receptions, which would be a career-high.
