Sandy Hook Elementary sings ‘America the Beautiful’ with Jennifer Hudson before kickoff

The Super Bowl tribute to America started with a heart-tugging song. The Children's Chorus from Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., sang the first verse of "America the Beautiful." They were then joined by actress and singer Jennifer Hudson, whose performance was predictably beautiful.

But the real treat was seeing the group of children who had been through so much sing, dance and enjoy themselves at the Super Bowl. It was a special moment for the kids that wasn't about what they had been through, but what they can do next.
