Ryan Tannehill, Jordy Nelson headline Week 9′s injury reports

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh doesn't think much of injury reports, so he probably won't be reading this roundup.

If Harbaugh did, he'd know that the Cleveland Browns ruled out Dimitri Patterson (ankle) and listed defensive tackle Ahtyba Rubin (calf) as "doubtful" for this Sunday's game. The Browns did activate 2011 first-round defensive tackle Phil Taylor from the physically unable to perform list, placing defensive end Brian Sanford on injured reserve to fit Taylor on the 53-man roster. Sanford popped up on these "invaluable" injury report on Thursday with a knee injury. For the Ravens, defensive end Pernell McPhee (thigh) is out and defensive tackle Haloti Ngata is questionable with a shoulder injury. Ngata is expected to play, but perhaps in a more limited role.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill (knee) was limited on Friday and the team sounds optimistic he'll start against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. However, Tannehill is listed as "questionable," which means there's a 50/50 chance he won't play, in which case the team would turn to Matt Moore. In addition to Tannehill, wide receiver Brian Hartline (groin) is "questionable," but the team's leading receiver is expected to play against a Colts secondary that will be without former Dolphins first-round cornerback Vontae Davis, who was ruled out with a knee injury. Colts second-round tight end Coby Fleener (shoulder) is also out, but the rest of the Colts' injury report looks good as linebackers Dwight Freeney (ankle), Robert Mathis (knee) and Pat Angerer (foot) and running back Donald Brown (knee) are "probable" for this week's game.

The Atlanta Falcons announced on Thursday that outside linebacker Sean Weatherspoon would miss Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys with a low right ankle sprain. The Falcons have also ruled out guard Garrett Reynolds, which means 2012 second-round pick Peter Konz will make another start at right guard. Falcons wide receiver Roddy White (back) practiced fully on Thursday and Friday and is a go for the Dallas game. Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant missed all of this week's practices after suffering a hip injury in the fourth quarter of last Sunday's 29-24 loss to the New York Giants and is listed as "questionable" on the final injury report of the week.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson was listed as "questionable" with a hamstring injury that kept him out of last week's 24-15 win over the Jaguars. As was the case against Jacksonville, Nelson will be a game-time decision on Sunday. The Packers ruled six players out, with fullback John Kuhn (hamstring) and defensive end Jerel Worthy (concussion) joining expected absences by Greg Jennings (groin), Charles Woodson (collarbone), Sam Shields (ankle) and Nick Perry (knee, wrist). The Arizona Cardinals ruled out quarterback Kevin Kolb (ribs) and guard Adam Snyder (quadriceps) and listed tight end Todd Heap (knee), safety Kerry Rhodes (back) and cornerback Greg Toler (hamstring) as "questionable."

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jonathan Dwyer breathed life into the team's ground game by rushing for 100 yards in back-to-back weeks, but the 2010 sixth-round pick out of Georgia Tech will miss likely miss Sunday's game against the New York Giants with a quadriceps injury that has him listed as "doubtful" on the team's injury report. With Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles) also "doubtful," Isaac Redman is expected to carry the load in the Steelers' running game. The Steelers defense will get outside linebacker LaMarr Woodley (hamstring) and safety Ryan Clark (concussion) back on Sunday, but right tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle) and safety Troy Polamalu (calf) have been ruled out for yet another week.

For the Giants, running back Ahmad Bradshaw continues on a "once per week" practice schedule and is listed as "questionable" with a foot injury. It would be an upset of Bradshaw were inactive against the Steelers. The Giants will be without linebackers Chase Blackburn (hamstring) and Jacquian Williams (knee) and Keith Rivers (calf) is "doubtful." Safety Kenny Phillips (knee) is listed as "questionable" after returning to practice this week for the first time since late September. Right tackle David Diehl, who has been slowed by a knee injury, will return to the starting lineup this week, with Sean Locklear returning to the "swing tackle" role he was originally signed to fill.

Denver Broncos cornerback Tracy Porter (illness) did not practice on Friday and is listed as "doubtful" for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Porter has missed the last two games after he experienced symptoms similar to a seizure he suffered in August and the Broncos' medical staff has been very cautious about clearing Porter to return to game action. The Bengals have ruled out wide receiver Marvin Jones and linebacker Dontay Moch, but have a healthy 53-man roster otherwise. Center Jeff Faine is "probable" after injuring his hamstring against the Steelers on Oct. 21.

Twenty-one players adorn the Buffalo Bills' injury report, including defensive end Mark Anderson (knee) and guard Chad Rinehart (ankle), who have been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. Cornerback Terrence McGee (knee) and starting right tackle Erik Pears (hip) are doubtful, but rookie left tackle Cordy Glenn is "questionable" and could return to the lineup after missing the last three games with an ankle injury. Defensive end Mario Williams is "probable" to face his former team after recently undergoing wrist surgery. Texans running back Ben Tate has been ruled "out" due to a hamstring he injured against the New York Jets on Oct. 8. The Texans beefed up their backfield earlier this week when they claimed running back Jonathan Grimes off waivers from the Jets. The Texans listed 15 players as "probable," including safety Quintin Demps, who has missed the last three games with a broken forearm.

Tennessee Titans right guard Leroy Harris (knee) missed all of this week's practices and has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears. Replacing Harris in the starting lineup is Deuce Lutui, who has started 72 games over his six-plus seasons in the NFL, but hasn't made a start since the 2010 season. Right tackle David Stewart (knee) was limited on Friday, but is expected to start. Titans quarterback Jake Locker is unlikely to dress due to a left shoulder injury that has him listed as "doubtful." Matt Hasselbeck will make the start with Rusty Smith backing him up. The Bears ruled out second-round wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, who has a broken hand, and linebacker Lance Briggs was listed as "probable" after being limited by a toe injury on Thursday.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without three running backs on Sunday, listing Maurice Jones-Drew (foot), Montell Owens (shoulder) and fullback Greg Jones (hip) as "out" on the injury report. Wide receiver Laurent Robinson (concussion) is expected to play, however, which could lead to more of a passing approach on offense against the Detroit Lions defense that will be without starting safeties Louis Delmas (knee) and Amari Spievey (concussion), leaving Erik Coleman and Ricardo Silva as the starters in the back-end of the secondary. Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson (knee) is questionable, but expected to play on Sunday.

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was held out of Friday's practice, but his sore ankle will not keep him out of Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks. The Vikings listed Peterson as "probable." Tight end John Carlson (concussion) will not get to face his former team as he's been ruled out for Sunday's game. The Seahawks will be without wide receiver Braylon Edwards (knee), but should have Doug Baldwin (ankle) back after the second-year receiver practiced all week and is was listed as "probable" on the injury report. Left guard James Carpenter is "questionable" with an illness, but the club should get backup guard John Moffitt back from a knee injury this week. On defense, Seattle will be without Jason Jones (ankle) for a second consecutive week. The Seahawks could activate cornerback Walter Thurmond from the physically unable to perform list, a decision they have until Monday to make.

The Oakland Raiders list 16 players on their injury report, most of which are designated as "probable." Right tackle Khalif Barnes (groin) and cornerback Shawtae Spencer (foot) are "out," linebacker Keenan Clayton (shoulder) is "doubtful" and middle linebacker Rolando McClain is a game-time decision with a toe injury. Conversely, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers listed just four players on their injury report, all of whom are "probable," even cornerback Eric Wright, who has an Achilles injury and is reportedly facing a possible four-game suspension.

Four Carolina Panthers defensive linemen are listed as "questionable" or worse, as defensive ends Antwan Applewhite (hamstring) and Thomas Keiser (elbow) are "doubtful." Wide receiver Brandon LaFell (concussion) is unlikely to play and the club could activate David Gettis off the physically unable to perform list if an additional receiver is needed for Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins. As expected, the Redskins have ruled out wide receiver Pierre Garcon (foot) and safety Brandon Meriweather (knee). Both have a shot to play after the Redskins' bye week. Inside linebacker Perry Riley (hamstring) is "questionable" and could be a game-time decision.

The New Orleans Saints will be without running back Darren Sproles for Monday night's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Sproles is out indefinitely after undergoing surgery to repair a broken hand. Sproles has played in over 50 percent of the team's offensive snaps and handles their kick return duties. Signed to a four-year contract after last year's lockout, Sproles leads the Saints with 908 combined yards this season and is second on the team with 39 receptions and four touchdown receptions. With Sproles out, the Saints could use 2011 first-round pick Mark Ingram to pick up more of the slack on offense, particularly on third downs where Sproles excelled. Eagles safety Nate Allen injured his hamstring on Thursday and could miss Monday night's game. First-year safety David Sims would start if Allen could not play.
