More discord in Seattle? Seahawks might move on from Lynch next year

The Seattle Seahawks could move on from Marshawn Lynch next year, according to a report from ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

It's worth reminding: The Seahawks bumped up Lynch's salary prior to the season. Just to get him to report to training camp.

Are the Seahawks losing control of their roster? Following the Percy Harvin trade, which the Seahawks clearly felt they had to make, it certainly begs the question. Lynch was reportedly upset with the Harvin trade, which the Seahawks obviously aren't too concerned about.

And with this Lynch report, which is hardly shocking, it does make you wonder what is next.

But this much is clear: This is Russell Wilson's team — even aside from bizarre reports about how the locker room might view him — and the Seahawks' brass won't prevent that from remaining the case. Lynch doesn't fit in with the team dynamic? Use him up and let him walk; that would be the theory, anyway.

It's going to be fascinating to watch these Seahawks over the next weeks, even after Sunday's gutty 13-9 victory against the Carolina Panthers. They have work to do, with the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers (who are getting healthier, by the way) ahead of them in the division, but it would be dumb to assume the Seahawks couldn't make another Super Bowl run.
