Mike Munchak, Ruston Webster retained by the Titans; COO Mike Reinfeldt has been fired
The Tennessee Titans will retain head coach Mike Munchak and general manager Ruston Webster will gain more control over the club as owner Bud Adams has fired senior executive vice president Mike Reinfeldt, reports Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean.
"I think he is the right guy to get the job done," Adams told the newspaper. "He just needs the right people around him."
Munchak has been with the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans in some capacity for the last 30 years, first as a Hall of Fame guard from 1982-93 and the last 19 seasons as a coach. Munchak coached the Titans' offensive line from 1997-2010 and replaced Jeff Fisher as head coach in 2011. In two seasons with Munchak, the Titans are 15-17.

The Titans were 4-6 in mid-November, but lost three straight coming out of their bye week, fired offensive coordinator Chris Palmer and finished the season 6-10. The Titans could part ways with defensive coordinator Jerry Gray, who has drawn interest as a head coach at the collegiate level.
According to an announcement from the National Football League, the Titans have the 10th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft and Webster will be the executive making that pick after the team fired Reinfeldt on Monday Last January, Adams promoted the highly-respected Reinfeldt to senior vice president and COO, Webster moved from vice president of player personnel to general manager. At that time, Adams said that he needed Reinfeldt to "oversees the entire franchise there in Nashville".
On Monday, Adams decided that Reinfeldt's best role within the organization was no role at all.
"He has two more years to go on his contract but I think we’d be better off without him," Adams said of Reinfeldt. "I don’t think he was getting the job done. Mike Reinfeldt is out."
