Live blogging Tim Tebow’s press conference in New York

Shutdown Corner's minute-by-minute recap of Tim Tebow's introductory press conference with the New York Jets.

12:06 p.m. -- Tim Tebow enters from a door 40 yards away from the podium and walks slowly to the media throng. He is accompanied by a man in argyle sweater. As entrances go, it's a good one but could have used some accompaniment from a gospel choir.

12:07 p.m. -- He steps to the podium. "First and foremost I want to thank ..."

a. God

b. Rex Ryan

c. The Broncos

d. Skip Bayless

The answer, in a mini-upset, was C.

12:08 p.m. --His introductory statements were quicker than one of his patented three-and-outs. Tebow is now taking questions.

12:09 p.m. -- He's already making history in New York. Tebow just referred to Rex Ryan as "Coach Ryan." Everyone is either "Mister" or "Coach." It's a shame Bozo the Clown didn't play a role in Tebow's life journey. I'd be curious to hear whether he'd be referred to as "Mr. The Clown."

12:10 p.m. -- Tebow says "jaguar" as "jag-wire," which makes it sound deliciously insulting. "That Blaine Gabbert, he's a real jag-wire."

12:11 p.m. -- Still no Jeremy Lin question. You're slipping, New York media.

12:12 p.m. -- "We'll have a lot of fun together," Tebow says of he and Sanchez.

12:12 p.m. -- "Wildcat." Drink!

12:13 p.m. -- Tebow looks at every reporter during their questions and nods eagerly, giving off the impression that everything they say is the most interesting thing he's ever heard.

12:15 p.m. -- Speaking of the Jets franchise he says, "There's a lot of pros here and not many cons." He's forgetting about Plaxico Burress, clearly.

12:18 p.m. -- "He's a very classy person with a lot of integrity," Tebow says of Mark Sanchez.

12:21 p.m. -- "Wildcat." That's four. "Gracious," "humbled," and "thankful," are leading, but nothing is topping "excited."

12:22 p.m. -- Reporter mentions Joe Namath bashing the trade. Tebow shows no signs of discomfort and answers the question with perfection. He did say he wanted to kiss Suzy Kolber though.

12:24 p.m. -- First mention of religion. So let it be written that Tebow was asked about it and didn't bring it up himself. "If people are talking about faith [because of me], that's pretty cool."

12:26 p.m. -- Tebow asked about his charity. It's understandable to hate on Tebow because of his game or his success or his lack of success or the media hype or the way he discusses religion. But when you listen to him speak about his pursuits off the field, I can't imagine anyone but a terrible cynic or Mark Schlereth not liking him. (Seriously, what's Schlereth's deal? Did Tebow steal his goatee trimmer once?)

12:30 p.m. -- Tebow talks about Tebowing. Only in New York!

12:31 p.m. -- Asked about a sign with his picture being above the Lincoln Tunnel. There's opportunity for a ribald joke here, me thinks.

12:35 p.m.-- Tebow gets asked about Pat Robertson but the questioner rambled too long and ended up asking another question about the Broncos and Peyton Manning that Tebow wisely answered instead.

12:36 p.m. --"I wish the Giants nothing but the best," he said. If Rex Ryan heard that, he'd be rolling over in his booth at Arby's.

12:40 p.m. -- "Thank you, God bless."
