Falcons receiver Roddy White tells fantasy football owners why they should have benched him

Fantasy football owners are always looking for expert advice when it comes to setting their weekly lineup.

There are many who look to Yahoo’s Brad Evans for help. Others may take Brandon Funston’s word to the bank. Some prefer the solid advice of Erik Kuselias, while Kay Adams has a loyal following. Shaun King delivers his fantasy insight on NBC Sports Network's Fantasy Football Live (Thursday’s at 6:30 p.m. EST), while Melanie Collins is never afraid to share her opinions.

While there are many sources of fantasy football information, Atlanta Falcons receiver Roddy White has dished out his own advice.

White injured his ankle during the preseason, and had been nursing it leading up to Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints. There was a lot of speculation about White’s availability prior to the game because he was limited in practice and listed as questionable. Even though he did play, the receiver produced only 19 yards on two receptions. He was only targeted twice.

That is why White let all fantasy football owners know why they should not have played him this past weekend.

Well, thank you for the advice.

Of course, in the world of fantasy football, the moment you bench a receiver because of injury concerns he ends up with 12 receptions for 140 yards and two touchdowns. Everybody gets burned for second-guessing their lineup, and benching White probably seemed unreasonable to those who own him - great for those who played against him.

Now that White is letting everyone know – including opposing teams – he probably will not be effective if he is not fully participating in practice before a game, every fantasy player now has some inside information.

Top that, Brad Evans.
