Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank revealed on Tuesday that he is being treated for prostate cancer.

“In December I was diagnosed with a treatable form of prostate cancer,” Blank said in a statement. “Over the last several weeks [fiancee] Angie [Macuga] and I have visited a number of expert doctors and hospitals across the country to identify the best treatment options for me.

“I have chosen an aggressive approach that will include surgery and the overall prognosis is good. I’m looking forward to getting this behind me and continuing a very active lifestyle, my upcoming wedding, as well as continued active involvement in our businesses and philanthropic efforts for years to come.”

Blank, 73, and Macuga are scheduled to be married in June, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. A co-founder of Home Depot, Blank purchased the Falcons in 2002; under his stewardship, the team has been to the postseason six times, advancing to the NFC championship in 2004 and 2012. Blank has also founded the MLS expansion team, Atlanta United FC, which will begin play next year.

The Falcons are set to move into a new home, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, for the 2017 season, and Blank would like to see the facility host the Super Bowl a couple of years after it opens. That is likely, given the trend of teams being rewarded with the Super Bowl for building new stadiums.
