Brandon Weeden, several Bears headline Week 12′s injury roundup

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning leads our Sunday night Rx report after undergoing a concussion test and X-rays after taking a shot to the head in Sunday's 17-9 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Manning passed the test and the 11-time Pro Bowler said everything was OK.

"I'm fine, everything checked out OK, " Manning said according to Mike Klis of The Denver Post. "I took a hit there, but I was cleared."

Cleveland Browns first-round quarterback Brandon Weeden sustained a concussion in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 20-14 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Weeden was replaced by Colt McCoy and his status for next week's game against the Oakland Raiders will be determined this week. For the Steelers, linebacker LaMarr Woodley injured his ankle in the second quarter and would not return, while second-round right tackle Mike Adams had his ankle rolled upon during a second-half sack of Charlie Batch.

The Chicago Bears came away with a 28-10 win against the Minnesota Vikings but also saw six starters go down with injuries, including running back Matt Forte, linebacker Lance Briggs and cornerback Charles Tillman, each of whom suffered ankle injuries on Sunday. Wide receiver/return specialist Devin Hester left and did not return because of a concussion, while starting guards Lance Louis and Chris Spencer suffered knee injuries. Their statuses for next Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks will be something we'll be monitoring all week. Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph and safety Harrison Smith both left Sunday's loss to the Bears in the third quarter after sustaining concussions.

San Francisco 49ers running back Kendall Hunter (left ankle) and wide receiver Kyle Williams (left knee) were injured on the same play late in the third quarter of Sunday's 31-21 win over the New Orleans Saints and would not return. With Hunter out, Brandon Jacobs actually got to play. If both injuries linger, we could see the NFL debuts of wide receiver A.J. Jenkins and running back LaMichael James, the 49ers' top two picks in the 2012 NFL draft. Niners tight end Delanie Walker left the game with a hip injury.

For the Saints, right tackle Bryce Harris injured his leg in the first quarter and would not return. Harris, an undrafted rookie, was starting in place of the injured Zach Strief (groin) and Charles Brown (knee), both of whom were inactive. Harris' injury forced the Saints to play the newly signed Will Robinson at right tackle.

San Diego Chargers safety Eric Weddle suffered a concussion on the Baltimore Ravens' successful conversion of a fourth-and-29 play in the fourth quarter of the Ravens' 16-13 overtime win on Sunday. Weddle was in pursuit of Rice when he was blocked (in the head and neck area, from behind) by Anquan Boldin. Weddle's head appeared to hit Rice's shoulder and then the ground. Entering Sunday, Weddle was one of a handful of defensive players to not miss a defensive snap on the season, a streak that ended when he missed the remainder of the Chargers' loss. The Chargers also lost inside linebacker Donald Butler and safety Atari Bigby to groin injuries, while outside linebacker Antwan Barnes left with a hamstring injury.

Jacksonville Jaguars starting cornerback Derek Cox missed the second half of Sunday's 24-19 win over the Tennessee Titans with a hamstring injury. Cox has a team-high three interceptions on the season.

Buffalo Bills defensive end Chris Kelsay's return after missing two games with a neck injury did not last long. The same injury knocked Kelsay out in the first half and he would not return. Bills fullback Corey McIntyre injured his leg in the fourth quarter and did not return.

In the Sunday night game between the Green Bay Packer and New York Giants, Packers running back Johnny White left the game in the first quarter with a concussion, while defensive end C.J. Wilson injured his knee. For the Giants, right tackle David Diehl suffered a "burner" in the first half and was replaced by Sean Locklear. In the third quarter, Giants safety Kenny Phillips suffered a non-contact injury to his right knee, the same joint that had kept him out from Sept. 30 until Sunday night. Giants running back Andre Brown suffered a broken fibula following a 16-yard run in the fourth quarter.
