Washington State player in hospital after alleged altercation involving Idaho football players

The University of Idaho and Washington State are only about 15 minutes apart, and this past weekend football players from those schools found themselves at a party together.

That turned out to be a horrible combination.

The players started arguing and were asked to leave the party according to CougFan.com, and in a parking lot across the street there was what Associated Press referred to as a "brawl" between players from both teams. Washington State wide receiver Mansel Simmons was found unconscious and taken to a hospital with head injuries.

A Pullman Police spokesman told CougFan.com, a site in the Scout.com network, that the authorities believe an Idaho player was responsible for Simmons' injuries.

The Moscow-Pullman Daily News said Simmons might have a skull fracture. The paper said Simmons was taken Pullman Regional Hospital and then moved to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
