Tyreek Hill to play for West Alabama

Not long after he was given three years probation in a domestic abuse case, former Oklahoma State RB Tyreek Hill has a new team.

Hill, now listed as Ty Hill, is on the roster at West Alabama.

"We hold a high standard for both our football program and our university," West Alabama coach Brent Gilliland said in a statement. "We believe Ty will be successful with the detailed support structure we have at West Alabama."

The team said it expects to have Hill in uniform on Saturday when it plays Stillman College. West Alabama is a Division II school.

Hill was given probation less than two weeks ago regarding an incident with his pregnant girlfriend in December. He was accused of punching and choking her and was charged with a felony count of domestic abuse by strangulation. He was kicked off of Oklahoma State's team after he was arrested. He got probation as part of a plea deal for pleading guilty.

Hill is most known for the game-winning punt return he had against Oklahoma in the Cowboys' final regular season game of 2014. After Oklahoma re-kicked following a penalty, Hill scored a 92-yard touchdown and Oklahoma State won the game 38-35 in overtime.

He had 1,811 all-purpose yards in 2014. He came to Oklahoma State from Garden City Community College and had previously tweeted he would be heading to Akron, though no official announcement was ever made.
