Two Alabama players suspended for Sugar Bowl

Alabama will be without two reserves in the Sugar Bowl against Oklahoma as coach Nick Saban announced after practice Thursday that linebacker Xzavier Dickson and Alvin Kamara are both suspended for unspecified reasons.

According to Al.com, Saban did not say whether the players will practice with the team in the next few weeks leading up to the game.

Dickson saw substantial playing time for the Crimson Tide, playing in all 12 games as a reserve for starter Denzel Devall. Dickson, a junior, started six games for the Tide last year. This year, he had 13 tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack.

Kamara, a freshman from Norcross, Ga., was mainly a scout team player this year for the Tide. He never saw the field and was not on the sidelines for the LSU game due to “behavioral reasons.”
