Top Miami RB Mark Walton suspended after DUI arrest

Miami running back Mark Walton has been suspended from the team following an arrest early Saturday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Walton, 19, was the first-team running back for the Hurricanes during the spring game.

According to the Associated Press, other charges against Walton are pending, including an investigation into impersonating a law enforcement officer, which is a third-degree felony in Florida.

"We are aware of the situation regarding Mark Walton and we have taken immediate action by suspending him from the team," Miami athletic director Blake James said in a statement. "We have no further comment at the time."

Walton, a rising sophomore, had 1,054 all-purpose yards for the Hurricanes last season. He led the team with 10 total touchdowns and was second on the team with 450 rushing yards and fifth with 293 receiving yards.

He had 10 carries for 56 yards in Miami’s spring game.
