New Syracuse coach Dino Babers has added a playmaker to his offense.

Three weeks after announcing his decision to leave Maryland, Amba Etta-Tawo told CuseNation.com that he will transfer to Syracuse. Etta-Tawo, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound wide receiver, is set to graduate from Maryland in May and will be able to suit up immediately for the Orange in 2016.

“Signed and fired up about the season,” Etta-Tawo told CuseNation. “Good environment, good genuine coaching staff and a great opportunity.”

Etta-Tawo totaled 61 receptions for 938 yards and three touchdowns during his time at Maryland. His best season came in 2013, when he hauled in 31 passes for 500 yards and two scores. His lone 100-yard game came in that 2013 season – a six-catch, 109-yard performance against none other than Syracuse.

Syracuse returns most of its key receivers from the 2015 season, including starters Steve Ishmael and Brisly Estime. Etta-Tawo should provide a nice boost of speed to Babers’ fast-paced offense that brought a ton of success during his time at Bowling Green.

Coming off a 4-8 record in 2015, the Orange will play its spring game on April 2 at the Carrier Dome.
