San Jose State is the latest team to join the legions that are introducing new helmets for 2014.

The Spartans tweeted out two new helmet designs, including one with an intertwined “SJ” and another with the familiar Spartan logo. Both helmets have a spear on top to represent the helmet stripe, which looks really sharp.

It also appears from the pictures in the tweet that the Spartan logo has some sort of texture to it.

These are good-looking helmets. Not too big of a departure from last year’s design (see last year's dome in the pic up top), but I think the spear design really completes the look.
