Rutgers going patriotic with stars and stripes helmet

Rutgers' new silver helmets have been a hit this season -- and if you're superstitious, they've been pretty good luck too, as the Scarlet Knights are off to a 7-1 start.

Rutgers is tweaking the helmet just a bit this week to show respect for the men and women who serve the country, as it goes with a stars-and-stripes logo for Saturday's game against Army.

We've seen other teams alter their logo to look like the American flag (Iowa and North Carolina come to mind) and it's a great gesture to help bring attention and support to the military personnel of the country.

Who knows, it might even give Rutgers some extra good karma for the rest of the season.
