Robert Nkemdiche’s Ole Miss announcement had a lot of style and excitement (Video)

There was a lot packed into Robert Nkemdiche's relatively tame announcement that he would be going to Ole Miss, even though that decision by the No. 1 recruit in the nation didn't shock many people, as Rivals.com explained.

He had his letterman jacket on as he made his thanks, then without drawing it out too much he announced he would attend Mississippi, taking the jacket off to reveal his Ole Miss suspenders and bow tie. Nkemdiche, a five-star defensive end, put on the Ole Miss hat, and then this photo made the rounds from ESPNU's Twitter account:

Someone can make a good deal of money selling that as a poster in Oxford.

Oh, but that wasn't the only highlight of the short clip.

Nkemdiche went to hug his brother Denzel, a freshman linebacker at Ole Miss who was wearing a matching bow tie and suspenders as his brother. Good southern touch.

For a moment on the ESPNU broadcast, it was odd how the Ole Miss coaches being shown

on a split screen seemed so calm after the seismic announcement they've been waiting on for weeks. When ESPNU studio host Rece Davis started to mention how weird it was that the Rebels coaches weren't showing more emotion, the room erupted in cheers as if Ole Miss had just won on a last-second field goal. There was a seven-second television delay in their room, which worked out well because it allowed everyone to see the sheer jubilation of college football coaches over the decision of a top high school senior.

Fellow five-star recruit and Ole Miss signee Laquon Treadwell, an elite receiver from Illinois, was just as happy at the annoucement.

Denzel Nkemdiche is also quite excited about his brother coming to Ole Miss to play with him.

Expectations will be huge in Oxford with this recruiting class, highlighted by the top player in the class.

With all the ridiculousness we've seen through the years for signing day press conferences, Nkemdiche's was understated and cool. And it was still a great highlight as the top recruit in the nation made his pick, and made a lot of people happy with that choice.
