Top-ranked Ohio State has lost two more players to season-ending injuries.

Head coach Urban Meyer announced Wednesday that junior defensive back Cam Burrows and freshman linebacker Nick Conner won’t return to action this season.

Burrows is the team’s third safety behind Vonn Bell and Tyvis Powell and has also filled in as a nickel cornerback for Damon Webb, who remains indefinitely suspended. According to Cleveland.com, Burrows had foot surgery this week.

Burrows had 17 tackles in 14 games played in 2014 and 11 tackles in 12 games as a true freshman in 2013.

Meyer said Conner injured his knee this week during practice. Conner, a four-star recruit from Dublin, Ohio, was expected to take a redshirt this season.

Burrows and Conner join wide receivers Noah Brown and Corey Smith on the list of OSU players with season-ending injuries. Brown, an expected starter, broke his leg during preseason practice. Smith, a fifth-year senior, also suffered a leg injury over the weekend against Indiana.

The 5-0 Buckeyes host Maryland (2-3) on Saturday.
