Notre Dame to wear Irish flag cleats for season opener in Ireland (photo)

Notre Dame will open the 2012 season against Navy in Dublin, Ireland, and it'll do it in style.

Ryan Grooms of the Notre Dame equipment staff tweeted out a photo Monday of Notre Dame's new adidas cleats, which are designed to look like the flag of Ireland.

Honestly, the cleat has a very soccer feel to it, but it's still very cool.

No word on whether there will be any other Irish adornments to Notre Dame's uniforms, but this is a nice start.
