Notre Dame rolls up to media day wearing lime green and royal blue kicks

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – When Notre Dame made its slightly late appearance to media days at Sun Life Stadium on Saturday, they do so in style.

Whose style is still up for debate.

Several Irish were sporting neon green and royal blue shoes that were provided by Adidas as part of the team’s bowl gear.

“They gave them to us, I like them, they stand out,” nose guard Louis Nix III said. “They’re not traditional colors, but they’re something to grab people’s attention and that’s what I like to do.”

The shoes are part of Derrick Rose’s collection, named after the Chicago Bulls basketball player.

Notre Dame hasn’t announced any uniform changes for the national championship game against Alabama, but considering some of the interesting combinations the Irish have tried out this season, would it really be a surprise to see the team roll out of the tunnel doing a Seattle Seahawks impression?

“You should say these are the new shoes and uniform colors for the game, and see how many people go crazy,” Nix said.

I guess we’ll all have to wait and see.
