Notre Dame RB Greg Bryant reportedly suspended four games

Notre Dame running back Greg Bryant has been suspended for the first four games of the 2015 season, according to BlueandGold.com.

The suspension, which is reportedly a result of a team rules violation, will keep the redshirt sophomore out for games against Texas, Virginia, Georgia Tech and UMass.

Bryant, a five-star recruit in 2013, saw brief action as a true freshman before taking a medical redshirt due to a knee injury. In 2014, he was second on the team with 289 yards rushing on just 54 carries – good for a 5.4 yard average. The 5-foot-10, 206-pound Bryant also had three rushing touchdowns and added five catches for 50 yards.

Bryant also contributed on special teams with eight punt returns for 94 yards.

The Irish return last season’s top rusher in junior Tarean Folston, who had 889 yards and six scores. Per BlueandGold.com, Bryant was splitting second-team reps with C.J. Prosise, a senior who played mainly slot receiver last year.
