Former Michigan walk-on quarterback Jack Kennedy, who was with the Wolverines from 2009-2012, is getting a chance to perform in Michigan on a slightly bigger stage.

Only this time it will be as a different sort of entertainer.

Kennedy, an aspiring rapper/producer/lyricist, has been added to Lil Wayne's "Big Show at the Joe" on Friday and will perform one song as the second act.

"I think it will change my life," Kennedy told the Detroit News. "Performing the one song is incredible, but being connected to this is the real huge win."

Kennedy will perform his single “It’s Time” and told the paper a connection with local radio show "Mojo in the Morning" was what helped him get on the docket that also includes Trey Songz, Yo Gotti and Omarion.

Kennedy, who played in five games during his Michigan career, told the paper preparing for a show is the same as preparing for a football game. Even though Kennedy didn’t play much — he threw just one pass in his career — he did credit his time at Michigan as a reason for his current success.

Kennedy has an upcoming performance at the Vans Warped Tour at The Palace parking lot July 24.
