Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher think Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston will stay two more years

Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher is more optimistic about Jameis Winston’s future as a Seminole than most everyone else.

Fisher told media Wednesday, during the ‘Noles signing day press conference, that he thought Winston would be around for the next two years despite being eligible for the NFL following the 2014 season.

“Everyone says he's going to stay one year and leave and they won't play with him,” Fisher said of his newly signed receivers. “But I don't think that's true. I think it'll be two.”

Fisher’s response came after he was asked about signing five-star receivers Ermon Lane and Travis Rudolph. Fisher said he thought Winston was a big help in recruiting those players and flipping four0star receiver Javon Harrison from Virginia Tech.

Overall, Florida State finished with the nation’s No. 4 recruiting class. And if Winston, who has currently turned his attention to being the closer for the Florida State baseball team, does end up staying through the 2015 season, there’s no doubt the high-level recruits will keep on coming.
