FCS' leading rusher arrested and suspended for selling drugs to an undercover cop

Illinois State running back Marshaun Coprich has been suspended indefinitely following an arrest on drug charges last week.

According to court records reviewed by WJBC, Coprich allegedly tried to sell between 10 and 30 grams of marijuana to an undercover agent with Illinois State Police Task Force Six on April 16. He was charged with unlawful delivery of marijuana, a Class 4 felony.

Coprich was released on bond after posting $2,025, but is due back in court on May 22. His offense carries a punishment ranging from probation to three years in jail.

Coprich was a first-team All-American last season as he led the FCS with 2,274 yards and 27 touchdowns, both school records. He was the primary reason Illinois State played for a national championship.
