Arizona star LB Scooby Wright leaves game with apparent knee injury

Scooby Wright, Arizona’s All-American middle linebacker, left in the first quarter of the Wildcats’ season opener against UTSA with an apparent knee injury.

According to the Associated Press, Wright went to the sideline to have his knee worked on by a trainer in the first quarter. The junior attempted to return to the game, but “came off again” and “remained on the bench with his knee wrapped in ice."

Wright later came out for the second half wearing street clothes and walking with a crutch.

Wright was the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year in 2014 as a sophomore. He ranked in the top five nationally with 163 tackles, 29 tackles for loss, 14 sacks and six forced fumbles.

Needless to say, it would be a huge loss for Arizona if Wright were to miss a significant period of time.
