2nd woman files Title IX suit vs. Kansas regarding alleged assault
A second woman has filed a Title IX lawsuit against Kansas for negligence after she said she was sexually assaulted by a football player in August of 2015.
The sexual assault allegation is against the same football player who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in 2014. Daisy Tackett, the woman in the alleged 2014 incident, filed a Title IX suit against the school in March.
Both of the women are former members of the Kansas rowing team and both incidents allegedly took place in the Jayhawker Towers apartments. The unnamed woman in the second lawsuit said Kansas created a hostile environment after she reported her allegations.

“KU made me feel worthless,” the student said in a statement, which was submitted by her lawyer Dan Curry, who is also representing Tackett. “After I reported my assault, everything KU did made me feel like they were trying to get me to crack and leave.
“My rowing team coaches didn’t care, didn’t help, and they did not protect me.”
The woman said she reported the incident in October 2015, the same day she met with the team's sports psychologist. The suit also says she quit the team in February and her athletic scholarship is no longer active after the completion of the spring semester.
Tackett, who withdrew from school in January, had said a second woman alleged she was also sexually assaulted by the same player. According to the second suit, he was expelled in March.
