Two former SEC wide receivers – Vanderbilt’s Jordan Cunningham and LSU’s Avery Peterson – have found new homes.

The University of North Carolina announced Wednesday that Cunningham will join the Tar Heels for the upcoming season. He’ll have two years of eligibility remaining after sitting out the 2015 campaign due to the NCAA’s transfer rules.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Cunningham had 19 receptions for 150 yards in two seasons at Vanderbilt. He appeared in 16 games and made six starts for the Commodores.

Cunningham, a four-star recruit in the 2013 class, originally said on Twitter in April that he’d transfer to Cincinnati, but evidently he changed his mind.

Despite missing out on Cunningham, the Bearcats have added Peterson, he told ESPN. He said his relationship with Cincy offensive coordinator Eddie Gran was a big reason for his decision.

“This is the right spot for me because I have a great relationship with Coach Gran,” Peterson said. “He recruited me out of high school, and this is a good football team. This team is on the rise.”

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Peterson, the younger brother of former LSU and current Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson, played in one game for the Tigers last season as a redshirt freshman.

Peterson, a former four-star recruit, is the second transfer wide receiver to land at Cincinnati this week. Jamil Kamara, formerly of Virginia, announced his intent to transfer to the Bearcats on Twitter earlier this week. Both must sit out a season before being eligible in 2016.
