Hoops fan recreates famous March Madness shots (Video)
If you think back on some of college basketball’s best moments, there’s a pretty good chance they took place in March. With the NCAA tournament underway, one hoops fan decided to recreate some of his favorites.

Sam Healy went out to a Chicago playground in the pouring rain and had a friend film him mimicking some of the most famous shots in college basketball history and later spliced his own footage in with YouTube clips.
It’s pretty great.
Most of the usual suspects are there: NCAA buzzer beaters from UConn’s Richard Hamilton and Valparaiso’s Bryce Drew, plus Kemba Walker’s infamous Big East tourney step-back. But a few underrated moments – like Vermont’s T.J. Sorrentine bomb vs. Syracuse and Ali Farokhmanesh’s 3-pointer vs. Kansas – also make appearances.
The video, of course, is capped off with Christian Laettner’s Elite 8 dagger to beat Kentucky.
Healy even nailed Thomas Hill’s famous reaction to Laettner's shot.
Well done.
Healy, 30, told The Washington Post that he had been thinking about creating a video like this for the past five years.
“I think anybody that’s a basketball fan, no matter how old you are, you go out and mimic those shots you remember as a kid,” he said.
Healy, who said it took about 40 minutes to film, had a few gripes with the final product. For one, he regrets not including Drew’s famous belly-flop. He also thought his Kemba impression was a bit weak.
No worries, Sam. There aren’t many who can pull off a step-back like that. That’s why it’s one of college basketball’s greatest shots.
