Mad Dash: Predators superfan proposes with message on belly

NBC on Yahoo Sports

If you've earned fame as a superfan, you ride your signature move in every major moment of your life, right? It wasn't even a question when it came to popping the question for Big Ben, the Nashville Predators superfan. Big Ben is known for painting messages on his rather predominant belly, which is then filmed and flashed up on the jumbotron at games. So it came as no surprise when Ben decided to ask his girlfriend Brandy for her hand in marriage that he went the belly message route. The Predators lended a hand by bringing her out on the ice during their Valentine's Day weekend game against the Devils, and she of course said yes. Congratulations the happy couple.

It was a weird weekend for college basketball teams on airplanes. The Mississippi State Bulldogs had to make an emergency landing when one of their engines failed, but made it to the ground safely. Meanwhile, the Oregon State Beavers were delayed leaving the ground at LAX after losing to USC because another passenger was stung by a scorpion on the plane. Alaska Airlines officials haven't figured out how the scorpion got on board, but Beavers head coach Wayne Tinkle told ESPN that the lady who was stung took it like a champ, acting like it was nothing more than a mosquito bite.

Deonte Burton can't yet suit up for Iowa State after transferring from Marquette, but if a Vine that emerged over the weekend is any indication, he's at least got show-stopping potential. Burton starred in a Vine in which he windmill dunks with authority while wearing Timberlands. The signature boots are certainly popular, but they're far from ideal when looking to throw down. It's pretty impressive.
